Guess this place?

I bet most people will have no idea..
Its the carmelite monastery where most people are not allowed to enter.

I went to visit a sister when i was much younger, but we werent allowed to go in.
Therefore by being able to enter the place today is really a LIFETIME experience!!:)

SOO..

Then how did we enter??

Me and NAT

Father Ethan?

okie..i didnt have Ethan photo, so let him be the bear then!!

We had a day filled with boxes, skin wrap, bubble wrap, and lots and lots of fans.
The nuns said that it is because of the termites living in their house, thus having the need to vacant the area for MAJOR REPAIRS.

I think they are super pro can.
They stay in that monastery for most of the time in their life.
And they dont really talk much to each other.
Their room is like 3/4 of my room, and my room is considered small already.
And even though, they are renovating the place, they do not plan to install aircons.
They do not plan to tear down the place, rather just repairing here and there.

The inner church..as they cannot go outside to meet even the congregation!!

The place where they make the hosts for holy communion!!COOL RIGHT!!

Then there is this husky called Quartz.
HE IS SUPER CUTE!!

HERE COMES QUARTZ!! smiles X)

Tongues out!! =P

SHUAI POSE!! handsome dude!!

HALF OF NAT, QUARTZ AND ME!!

My life has certainly changed after a visit to the carmelite.
I just feel this warm feeling of peace in my heart.
I just know that God is super Good that His grace is SUFFICIENT for me.

I went OLPS for 4.45pm mass today.
Even though i fell asleep, i knew i fell asleep in deep peace.
Then God gave me the courage to say i'll go back to choir to help play for mass once again after he gave me an organ to play at the carmelite.

Then when i went to st stephen to wait for my bro..
He sort of urge me to go up to the chapel of the new building.
Even though, that place was dusty and unfurnished.
I FELT HIM, I FELT HIS PRESENCE.
There was just this strong presence of him, of his grace upon the whole area.
I dunno why, but i knelt down to pray and in full conviction i know he is going to make St Stephen a great church one day!!

Life with Nat is back to normal, and i'm really happy.
we had loads of fun moving the boxes and skinwrapping tables that cannot be skinwrapped.
we had loads of fun pushing each other on the trolley.
we had loads of fun patting Quartz.
Even though it was just simply doing stupid stuff like spraying water at Ethans, it was just fun.
I guess we can say that God really works in ways we cannot see!!

yupp..before i say goodbye..
This was what i found on the camilite website..

ON BEING A CARMELITE FRAIR
A Carmelite is someone who has been called by the
Holy Spirit to seek the face of the living God and hear his word deep within.
He seeks by a life of contemplative prayer to enter into communion with
God the Father, through Christ his Son in the power of the Holy Spirit.
It is just this commitment to prayer that makes a Carmelite. His whole
life flows from that source.

Carmelite prayer has its own distinctive spirit.
Our understanding of prayer is deeply theological, guided by the teaching
and experience of St Teresa and St John of the Cross.

Prayer is a real relationship with God. Its genuineness
is measured by Gospel fidelity rather than any extraordinary personal experiences.
Growth in prayer is accompanied and measured by an increasing depth of
faith, hope, love, joy, peace, perseverance, kindness and generosity. Contemplation
is simply a growing friendship with Christ. As with any relationship it
needs time and mutual presence to grow.

We are called to work in the presence of God throughout
the entire day. Prayer is not confined to set times and places but is an
attitude that embraces all of life. This practice of the presence of God
both fosters a life of prayer and grows out of it. The Order of Discalced
Carmelites provides the authentic and realistic climate for such a life
of prayer.

WHO ARE THE CARMELITES?
The Carmelite Order developed in the thirteenth century from a single community of hermits on Mt. Carmel in Israel. Their life was centred on God, meditating on the word of the Lord and watching in prayer. They honoured the prophet Elijah as their spiritual father.

Their simple chapel was dedicated to Mary. From this lay community of hermits developed the ancient Order of Carmelites. In the sixteenth century, the Order of Discalced Carmelites was founded by St.Teresa of Jesus. She was given the grace to develop her own special vocation to live the life of contemplative prayer for the greater honour and glory of God, for the salvation of souls, and for the good of the Church. She strove above all to imitate the praying Christ of the Gospels St. John of the Cross, a master of the ways of faith, was introduced by St. Teresa to her distinctive lifestyle.

WHY BECOME A CARMELITE?
Many people are looking for some kind of identity with a community that embodies spiritual values and follows a definite path towards realised union with God. People are hungry for these values because they are absent or threatened in today's society which is marked by economic affluence and is driven by a pervasive consumerism that challenges the gospel. Individuals can find support by becoming part of a community which shares the same spiritual values.

IS THE CARMELITE SECULAR ORDER FOR EVERYONE?
No, there are many gifts of the Holy Spirit. Secular Carmel is a particular call of the Spirit to place prayer at the heart of life.heart of life. Prayer is at the heart of the Carmelite vocation. If you want to belong to Carmel, you cannot simply add this dimension to your life, it takes time. Carmel is demanding enough to require you to make some sacrifices and reorder your priorities.
